Description
1944 COLT COMMANDO
1944 COLT COMMANDO In 98% mint crisp condition, we have a US WWII issued Colt Commando Revolver with the standard 4-inch barrel in .38 Special. According to the Colt Letter, this pistol was shipped to the US Maritime Commission Warehouse in Charlotte, NC, on May 24, 1944. The Colt letter is included.
Likely this revolver was intended to arm the crew of a Liberty Ship or some other type of Merchant Marine vessel it appears to be new and not issued. While many revolvers were issued to guard war plants, this seagoing Colt is a much more historically intriguing piece. Of course, this is completely matching and factory original—one of the Nicest commands we have had on offer
